The Bibans ( Arabic البيبان, Kabyle ⵜⵉⴳⴳⵓⵔⴰ Tiggoura ) are a chain of mountains in northern Algeria , which to the south Kabylia limits. The highest peaks are the 1862  m high Mansoura (جبل منصورة) and the 1832  m high Choukchout (شوكشوط). The Bibans are a mountain range of the Tell Atlas . All strategically important monitoring points are at the level of the passes of the Biban Mountains ( Iron Gates ). The most important gorge is the Bab al-Kabir 'great gate' and connects Algiers with the railway via the Wadi Chebba . About 2 km to the east is the Bab al-Saghir 'the little gate'.

The inhabitants of the villages follow typical Kabyle customs such as keeping goats and bees. Fields are mainly cultivated for the cultivation of olive trees. Oil mills are operated in various communities.
