Bible 21

The Bible 21 (actually Bible, překlad 21. století , German about Bible translation of the 21st century ) is a modern Czech translation of the Bible .

This translation is only the third complete Czech translation of the Bible from the original languages after the Kralitz Bible (16th century) and the Český ekumenický překlad (1961–1979).

The 15-year translation work of the seven-person team was headed by Alexandr Flek and completed in 2009. The first edition appeared at Easter and was sold out within a few weeks. By the end of 2009 over 80,000 copies had been sold, making Bible 21 the best-selling book in the Czech Republic in 2009 . The New Testament was first translated and published separately in 1999.

The Bible 21 can be purchased in book form, but it can also be downloaded from the project website as a text or audio book (both under a Creative Commons license).
