History and holdings

The Deputazione di storia patria per l'Umbria , which split off from the Deputazione di storia patria delle Province Toscane e l'Umbria , was recognized by the Italian state in 1896. Therefore, the corresponding state funds flow through the Giunta storica nazionale . Its organs are the assembly of members, the Assemblea dei soci ordinari , then the office of the president, the governing body, the Consiglio direttivo , and finally the auditors. All offices are filled every four years.

The tasks include the publication of the Bollettino, which has been published annually since 1895, and various monographs on the history of Umbria . This also includes source editions . The library, which was initially located in the city library, grew so much with the work of the Deputazione that in 1990 it was moved to its current location.

From the core of historical works, then the source editions, but also the study materials and archive inventories , a large library emerged, largely in exchange for the annual editions of the Bollettino , which contains periodicals that are otherwise not available in Umbria. Of the approximately 400 journals, 172 are currently (as of 2016) current publications. The number of monographs is around 18,000 volumes. A number of first editions , conference proceedings and works from the late 19th century are included. The historical archive of the deputation, which alone comprises 200 busts , is also in the house. It was arranged by Paola Pimpinelli and is currently being inventoried by Laura Marconi. The inventory of photographs has not yet been inventoried.
