The library of the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences is a central facility of the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences and, like the university itself, was founded in 1992. As a scientific library, its primary task is to organize the analog and digital media and information supply to all departments of the university. As a publicly accessible library, it is also open to other groups of users.

The library of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam has a media inventory of 230,000 volumes, the content of which is particularly in the areas of social sciences, sociology, educational sciences, psychology, political sciences, economics, art sciences, architecture, civil engineering, restoration, cultural sciences and information sciences (library, archive, documentation) composed.

In addition to the comprehensive supply of media and information, the transfer of knowledge about information literacy is the focus of library work. history

In 1992 the library took over the former editorial library of the German TV radio . This inventory of around 60,000 volumes comprises a universal collection of content from the 1950s to 1991.

In April 2009 the library moved into its new premises in the main building at Kiepenheuerallee 5. All media collections, training rooms, computer workstations and study workstations are available to library users on an area of ​​2,600 m².

Information Center for Information Science and Practice

In 1993 the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences took over the information center for information science and practice, as the central specialist documentation center for information science literature . The information center produces the INFODATA , INFODATA-eDepot databases and a current contents service .
