BigStyle is a dance group consisting of 21 to 24 dancers, which is classified in the categories of Hip-Hop, Lyrical Hip-Hop and Video Clip Dancing. BigStyle was founded in 2007 under the then trainer Christian Köster. The members come from several cities in Germany and the Netherlands, while the training takes place in Opladen (Leverkusen). The group became famous through the TV format Got to Dance and the contest series Dance4fans. The group belongs to the ADTV dance school Körber.

history

The group was founded in 2007 by the then trainer Christian Köster, a year later the dancer and choreographer Dejan Lekic joined as trainer. In 2011, he took over the team and led it to success. BigStyle has become known in particular through the Dance4Fans contest series organized by the ADTV (General German Dance Teachers Association). BigStyle achieved numerous titles in this format, but was also represented at other well-known championships, for example World of Dance or the Duisburger Tanztage.

Got to Dance 2013

A duo of the group appeared on the first season of Got to Dance . After successfully being accepted for the show, Dinah Jane Ruess and Daniel Luzao made it to the semi-finals. They won the battle, but were not voted into the final in the audience voting.

Got to Dance 2014

In 2014, the group achieved greater notoriety through their participation in the Got to Dance talent show . She performed in the auditions with a choreography to the title What Now by Rihanna and made it to the semifinals. There they won their battle against the group Danceroom and danced to Never too much by DJ Antoine . In the final, they danced to Rihanna again, but couldn't decide for themselves. The winner of the 2014 Got to Dance season was Majid Kessab, a friend of the coach Dejan Lekic.

After Got to Dance

In 2015 the team worked on several projects. In particular, it worked on gigs and traveled to Milan, where it represented the German stand at the EXPO world exhibition.

In 2016 BigStyle won the largest dance event in Germany, the Duisburg Dance Days, in the highest category "High Level ADULTS" .

For the tenth anniversary in 2017, the dance group returned to their roots, because they decided to join Dance4Fans again . They started in the street style category at the pre-contest in Eppelborn. The team moved into the final and in the end took first place, thus qualifying for the German championship 2017 in Bad Kissingen. Furthermore, the duo "Expression" won in the Freestyle Duo category and also qualified.
