Bike Friday

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bike Friday is a product name of the bicycle manufacturer Green Gear (based in Eugene , Oregon ). It is used to refer to foldable touring bikes , racing bikes and tandems .

Bike Friday is known among bicycle travelers as a travel bike that is very easy to transport, as it can be quickly folded if necessary or disassembled into a standard Samsonite case (which can otherwise also be used as a bicycle trailer ) and still drives like a 26/28 " -Tour bike. This also applies to the Bike Friday tandems.

The product range includes foldable mountain bikes, racing bikes, a recumbent bike and even a tandem that can be converted to a single bike. Most models are tailor-made to the customer's height, which is unusual for folding bike manufacturers. As far as their driving characteristics are concerned, the bikes can also cope with demanding routes such as Paris-Brest-Paris , Tour de France stages and a North American coast-to-coast tour, according to the manufacturer.

The founders and owners of the company are the brothers Hanz and Alan Scholz, who made a name for themselves with the founding of Burley Design (child trailers, tandems and recumbents) in the 1970s.
