For a number of years now, the MAZ media training center has also been offering part-time training to become a picture editor in Switzerland . The course lasts 18 months and takes place every two years. The Ostkreuzschule in Berlin offers similar training. This lasts a year and is linked to practical work in an editorial office. The profession of picture editor can also be learned through a two-year editorial assistant in a picture or press agency, or through the editorial assistant in a photo editor.
