The Education Centers of the Building Industry eV (BZB) are an educational service provider for the construction industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. The main location is in Krefeld, with two other centers in Wesel and Düsseldorf. With almost 1,000 apprentices, the BZB is one of the largest construction training centers in Germany. Your business areas range from apprenticeship training, further education, professional orientation and qualification measures to project business.

The BZB carry out professional qualification projects throughout Germany as well as on a European and international level. Project participants are companies and organizations in the construction industry as well as in the academic field.

history

The BZB were founded in 1979 by the building trade guilds in the Düsseldorf administrative region. In 1984 the centers in Krefeld, Düsseldorf and Wesel were inaugurated. In 1990, another center was opened in Oberhausen and in 1992 a center was opened in Duisburg, which was converted into a branch of the Krefeld center in 2013. The BZB has been offering retraining courses since 1985. They have also been involved in professional training since 1988. In the 1990s they also established themselves in international educational work.

Frank Pawlik was the managing director of BZB until 2011. Since then it has been Thomas Murauer. The chairman of the board is Rolfgeorg Jülich.

The Education Centers for the Building Industry (BZB) is a registered association with its headquarters in Krefeld. Two other locations are located in Wesel and Düsseldorf.

The BZB are divided into four operational areas:

A guest house is attached to the BZB Krefeld to accommodate the trainees during the training phases.

Services

Inter-company apprentice training

The BZB are active as instructors for construction apprentices in the construction stage. Instruction is offered for the trades bricklayer, concrete and reinforced concrete worker, carpentry, plasterer, tile, slab and mosaic layer, screed layer, WKS insulator, drywall fitter, road builder, sewer builder, roofer, wood and building protector, road keeper and draftsman.

In addition to the inter-company apprenticeship training, the BZB offers seminars and courses in the following construction areas: master classes and polishing courses; Concrete maintenance and waterproofing; Sewer construction and maintenance; Fire protection; Sustainable Building; Environmental technology and occupational safety; Roof and facade. Training courses in management and law as well as international courses are also offered.

Courses and seminars can also be booked as in-house events. In addition, the BZB offers the development of new seminars and series of events tailored to specific training needs.

Advice for job seekers and refugees

Job seekers receive advice from the BZB on the possibilities of starting work in the construction industry by means of modular qualifications and retraining. In addition, the BZB carry out various measures for professional orientation with accompanying language training and an introduction to the German employment system for refugees.

Professional field exploration for young people

The BZB offer established potential analysis methods for young people at the beginning of their systematic career and study orientation. Strength and action-oriented test procedures should, according to the BZB, give young people the opportunity to explore their potential independently of gender-specific role expectations.

Advisory services for companies

The representatives for innovation and technology (BIT) of the Bildungszentrum des Baugewerbes e. V. support companies in an advisory capacity in finding strategies for their innovative technologies. They also promote the cooperation of SMEs in professional clusters and offer a company check for inclusion in the "Offensive Gutes Bauen (formerly INQA Bauen)".

Projects

At the national and international level, the BZB are active in educational networks that carry out projects to improve vocational training. According to their own statements, they are active in the areas of digitization, work-based learning, energy-efficient construction, cluster formation in the craft, modern master craftsman training and BIM ( Building Information Modeling ).
