Binder knife

The binder knife is a tool for working sticks , for cutting and splitting small pieces of wood , also for knocking in and knocking out the bungs and for a number of smaller carpentry jobs .

The binder knife is sharpened on one side. With the weaker point at which the scabbard is continued, one grasps the barrel bungs in order to dig them out. The wide back is used to hammer in the bungs.
