Domestic trade statistics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The domestic trade statistics are the official statistics that deal with the trade of goods by trading companies and trade intermediaries within a state.

In the domestic trade statistics, a distinction is made between wholesale , trade brokerage, motor vehicle trade and repairs, and retail trade . Wholesaling comprises the trading of goods from wholesalers to retailers. This also includes trade with foreign trading companies, i.e. export . Retailing mainly includes the sale of goods to private individuals.

The domestic trade statistics consist of the monthly business survey , which measures the development of turnover and the number of employees with the help of monthly, quarterly / semi-annual and annual indicators and rates of change. In particular, the monthly survey in retail is considered to be the indicator for private consumption in Germany. The annual survey provides structural information on domestic trade, such as turnover levels, costs and business figures. The statistical results usually appear in the period July / August of each year.
