MIT biosuit next to a conventional spacesuit

The Biosuit or Bio-Suit was a research project by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the 2000s to early 2010s to develop a novel spacesuit . The peculiarity of the suit was that it should only ensure an artificial atmosphere in the helmet. On all other parts of the body, a special fabric made of latex and wires would provide the necessary external pressure.
