The Biscayan dialect (Basque: Bizkaiera ) is a dialect of the Basque language . Because it is spoken not only in Bizkaia , but also in some of the neighboring areas of Gipuzkoa and Álava , it is also called the Western dialect .

Biscay is the most widespread Basque dialect and at the same time, next to Suletin, the one that differs most widely from the standardized Basque ( Euskara Batua ).
