Mimi Ichito ( 一 戸 美 海 ) moved to Tokyo with her parents in 3rd year of middle school . Three years later, she returned to her homeland, a smaller island in Japan, because she had an affair with her teacher and had to leave school. There she is received by her best friend Sumire Manabe ( 真 鍋 菫 ) and sandpit friends Hikari Tsukishima ( 月 島 ヒ カ リ ) and Yōsuke Kakei ( 筧 陽 介 ). They want to cheer them up again and look for the blue cat with the little bell on its tail, who should grant the finder a wish. Mimi doesn't want to tell her friends anything about the events in Tokyo. But soon she tells Hikari that he is still in love with her. Mimi agrees to become his girlfriend. At first she just wants to forget her ex-boyfriend, but ultimately she also falls in love with Hikari.

Hikari and Mimi want to get married after they graduate from school, Hikari wants to work as a fisherman like his father and Mimi as a housewife. But after a year she decides to become an educator and to go to Tokyo. Hikari is against it, because she would then be far away from him and Mimi is also unsure. But when she falls out with her mother, she ends the relationship with Hikari and goes away. When she finally returns after a long time and still loves Hikari, Sumire tells her that she has also fallen in love with Hikari. In order not to harm Sumire and not only to act for his own benefit, Mimi Hikari withholds her love.
