Blaubeuren is the largest stone meteorite found in Germany . It is a 30.26 kg chondrite of the type H4-5 and a 0.41 kg fragment from the same location. The meteorite was found in 1989 while working in a garden in Blaubeuren , but was not recognized as a meteorite until 2020 . Various investigations of the object (including by the German Aerospace Center ) showed that the inclusions it contained must have formed 4.5 billion years ago, i.e. when the solar system was formed.
