Blue Streak in Conneaut Lake Park ( Conneaut Lake , Pennsylvania , USA ) is a wooden roller coaster that opened on July 4, 1938.
It was the first roller coaster to be nominated as a classic by the American Coaster Enthusiasts . It is the sixth oldest wooden roller coaster in the United States and the only Edward A. Vettel roller coaster that is still in use. Blue Streak went through some major renovations in 1997 and in 2002 the original 1938 trains were brought back to replace the silver trains that had been in service since the 1960s.
Trains
Blue Streak owns a three-car train made by the National Amusement Device Company . Four people (two rows of two people) can be seated in each car. The train originally had four cars, one of which was removed in 2016 or 2017.
