The Bluffton University is a Mennonite college in the US state of Ohio .

history

The college was founded in 1899 by the Mennonite side as Central Mennonite College . In 1913 it was first renamed Bluffton College . In 2004 the college was finally named Bluffton University . As a Liberal Arts College, Bluffton University offers a wide range of courses. 40 subjects are offered, each of which can be completed with a Bachelor of Arts . In addition, three subjects can also be completed with a master’s degree.

Self-image

The college sees itself as a Mennonite college, but has been open to students of other denominations and religions since it was founded. The majority of the students now have a non-Mennonite background. Nevertheless, Anabaptist-Mennonite principles such as non-violence and honesty continue to play a role in the self-image of the university. As a Christian college, Bluffton University has been a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities since 1991 .

Bluffton University students are not supervised during exams. Instead, the students vouch with their honor that they have completed the exams independently.
