Board of Editors in the Life Sciences

The Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) is a professional organization of editors and chief editors of scientific journals in the field of Life Sciences ( English Life Sciences ). The organization has its focus on the United States.

BELS was founded in 1991 and offers a certification scheme with several levels. Certified BELS members have access to all contact details of the other members. There are the levels ELS - Basic Certification , ELS (D) - Diplomate Status and ELS (H) - Honored Status .

The Editor in the Life Sciences (ELS) exam consists of a three-hour exam with multiple-choice questions.
