Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky (Ukraine)

The Bogdan Khmelnitsky Order ( Ukrainian Орден Богдана Хмельницького ) is an Order of Merit of Ukraine divided into three classes .

designation

The order was named after the Ukrainian hetman and founder of the first Ukrainian state Bohdan Khmelnyzkyj , just like the Soviet Bogdan Khmelnitsky order, which was founded in 1943 .

Foundation, endowment

The Bogdan Khmelnitsky Order was founded on May 3, 1995 by the Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union over the German Empire in World War II and thus the end of the " Great Patriotic War ".

Earnings required

The Order is awarded to the citizens of Ukraine for special merits in defending the honor of national sovereignty, territorial integrity and strengthening the defense capacity and security of Ukraine.
