Bow weight

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The bow weight is a measure of weight used to classify pelts or hides and to trade certain types of fur , such as goat skins .

The sheet weight represents an average weight of e.g. B. 100 or 500 individual skins. The weight of the individual skin does not have to match the weight of the bow. It is a putative weight for a certain number of skins, such as untanned rabbit skins . For example, 100 rabbits without paws of a certain type weighs between 17 and 18 kilograms. That is the bow weight.

Compare also the phrase " in bulk "; In the merchant language this meant "completely" or "completely" (buy in bulk).
