The Bombay Stock Exchange ( BSE ) is a stock exchange in the Dalal Street in Mumbai (formerly Bombay).

Founded in 1875, the stock exchange is the oldest in Asia . The shares of around 3,500 companies are traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Along with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), which is also based in Mumbai, the BSE is the most important stock exchange in India .

The market capitalization of all companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange was USD 2,063 billion in August 2017 , making them one of the 20 largest stock exchanges in the world by market capitalization.
