The Booster is a work ship for the maintenance of offshore wind turbines

This type of ship is internationally known as a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) and has the IMO number 9646156, the call sign OZLS2 and sails under the Danish flag with home port Esbjerg

She was built in 2012 as Bayard 4 by the shipyard Batservice Mandal AS in Mandal Norway and sold to Fred. Olsen Windcarrier delivered. It has a length of 20.9 m, a width of 7 m and is measured with 118 GT. The deck area for loading spare parts and tools is 51 m² and offers space for two 10-foot containers. The payload is 8 t and the crane has a load capacity of 3 t.

The booster was classified by DNV, is equipped with a VSAT system and is driven by two MAN D 2842 LE410 V12 engines with around 800 kW each, which act on two Ecoflow Propulsor variable-pitch propellers from the Norwegian company Servogear.

Sister ships are the Bayard 1 built in 2011 , the Bayard 2 , Bayard 3 , Bayard 5 built in 2015 , and the Bayard 6 and Bayard 7 built in 2013 .
