The boukha is a spirit that is made from figs in Tunisia .

It is made by simple distillation of figs from the Mediterranean region and reaches 36 to 40 percent alcohol by volume .

Boukha is served pure, tempered or chilled as an aperitif . It can also be the basis of numerous cocktails, seasoning fruit salads or be drunk at room temperature as a digestif .
