Boys Don't Cry was a British musical group and a one-hit wonder of the 1980s. It consisted of the members Nick Richards (vocals), Brian Chatton (keyboard), Nico Ramsden (guitar), Mark Smith (bass) and Jeff Seopardie (drums).

Career

Nick Richards, head and singer of the group, was the owner of the flourishing recording studio Maison Rouge in London and recorded the only big hit of the formation I Wanna Be a Cowboy in 1986 without the ulterior motive of further marketing. That all changed when the tape was played by a DJ at the Limelight Club in New York. The group was signed to Profile Records and the single became a success, reaching number 12 on the US charts. The band was discovered by Paul Oakenfold when he was still a Talent Scout for Profile Records in London.

In 1988 the second album Who The Am Damn Do You Think You Am was released with a guest appearance by Phil Collins . However, there was no further commercial success. In 1990 the group broke up after disputes with their then label Atlantic Records.

In 1991, her biggest hit was once again part of the soundtrack of the film Last Boy Scout - The goal is survival .

In the video I Wanna Be a Cowboy , Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead made a cameo.
