Brno clock

The Brno Clock ( Brněnský orloj in Czech ) is a sculpture in the Moravian city of Brno . It was built according to the design of the artists Oldřich Rujbr and Petr Kameník and unveiled in 2010. The shape of the Brno clock represents a cartridge . This reminds of the siege of Brno by Swedish troops in 1645.

Individual parts at the top of the object rotate at intervals of 1 minute, 1 hour and 12 hours; the clockwork is a radio clock, controlled by a radio signal from Frankfurt am Main. Every day at 11 a.m. local time, a small ball is released from an opening. This function is also the basis for the naming.
