Wide belt sander

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A wide belt sander (also calibrating machine ) is a woodworking machine in industrial production with a sanding belt width of up to approx.

Solid wood is sanded to the required thickness by "calibrating". Raw and veneered panel materials (e.g. chipboard , wood fiber or plywood panels ) are pre-sanded before gluing and veneering, surfaces, veneer and lacquer are smoothly and finely sanded, brushes are used for structured surfaces. In the case of finished cassettes (doors, windows, kitchen fronts), all edges are broken in one operation. Depending on the desired sanding, the roller is used for calibration, the rigid shoe for sanding solid wood and the air shoe for sanding veneer and lacquer.
