Simone Osygus

Simone Osygus (born September 30, 1968 in Wuppertal ) is a former German swimmer .

Their special routes were the short freestyle distances. Most of her successes she could achieve in relay competitions. So she won the bronze medal in the German freestyle relay over 4 × 100 m at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 and in Atlanta in 1996 . She achieved her greatest individual success in 1991 when she won the European Championship over 50 m freestyle.

For her sporting success she was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993 .

Osygus started for the Wasserfreunde Wuppertal and later for the SG Bochum-Wattenscheid.

Osygus studied sports science at the German Sport University Cologne . Today she is the managing director of the swimming department of SV Bayer Wuppertal .
