Susanne Baus

Susanne Baus (born June 1, 1965 in Kiel ; † July 16, 2013 ) was the first Protestant military pastor in the Austrian Armed Forces .

Susanne Baus studied theology at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel and the Bethel Church University . Following a study visit to Paris , from 1994 to 1995 she held the position of vicar at the German Evangelical Lutheran Church there. Her further church activities took her back to Germany and Austria, where she became pastor in Voitsberg in Styria in 1999 .

On October 1, 2003, Susanne Baus became the first female chaplain of the armed forces at the Burgenland Military Command in the Martinkaserne in Eisenstadt .
