The sports club Bayer Wuppertal is the largest sports club in the city of Wuppertal with 7,600 members .

The club is known for its volleyball team, which played in the 1st Bundesliga until 2007/08 and then became independent as Wuppertal Titans . The men's baseball team also played in the 1st Bundesliga . The swimming department , which provided numerous World Cup and Olympic participants, is internationally successful .

Other departments offer basketball , baseball , soccer , weightlifting , judo , air sports , gymnastics and gymnastics , dance , sport shooting , scuba diving , taekwondo , tennis and table tennis .

The club has been based in the Bayer Sports Park on the Rutenbeck in Wuppertal- Sonnborn since 1998 . A large, multi-purpose hall , the Bayer Sports Hall , offers good conditions for recreational and competitive sports. Since 2005, a center for popular and health sports called Fitness Aktiv has been added to the offer. The club's own fitness studio with strength and endurance equipment, which specializes in strengthening and training the back, posture and balance, also offers a wide range of courses.

As a result of Bayer AG's withdrawal, the volleyball team was spun off as Wuppertal Titans from the 2008/09 season . The club's swimmers compete under the umbrella of SG Bayer Wuppertal / Uerdingen / Dormagen .
