The multi-purpose hall or triple gym, the Bayer sports hall, is the second largest event hall in Wuppertal after the university hall .

In professional sports, the hall was primarily used as the home ground for volleyball players at A! B! C Titans Berg. Land that competed in the 2nd Bundesliga volleyball league for the 2011/12 season.

Until 2011, the hall also served as the main venue for the then second division handball team Bergischer HC , which also played some of its home games in the Solingen Klingenhalle . After the BHC's promotion to the Bundesliga , the Bayer hall was replaced by the larger university hall as the Wuppertal location.

In the 2017/18 season, at least six home games of the Bergische Volleys (formerly TSG Solingen Volleys ) are to be played in the hall .

The hall offers space for 2,300 guests for such sporting events.

The hall serves as a meeting place for the Bayer HealthCare workforce at the Wuppertal site, among others .

history

The Bayer Sports Park and the Bayer Sports Hall were established in 1998 and expanded step-by-step. At the same time, the Bayer atrium on Gutenbergplatz was given up and sold to a private investor.

In April 2005, the construction of the center for popular and health sports as the third building complex was completed.

With the promotion of Bergisches HC to the first handball league in the 2011/12 season, the Bayer sports hall is now a home for the handball league.
