The SG Bayer Wuppertal / Uerdingen / Dormagen is an amalgamation of the swimming departments of three clubs sponsored by the Bayer Group . SG Bayer is one of the most successful clubs in German swimming .

Member clubs

According to their own statements, the four sponsoring associations have more than 21,000 members. However, since top-class sport is practiced in several sports in these clubs ( Wuppertal 1st Bundesliga volleyball , Uerdingen 1st Bundesliga water polo , Dormagen 1st Bundesliga handball ), the number of actual members in SG Bayer is significantly lower.

Known swimmers

World champions Antje Buschschulte , Thomas Rupprath , short course world champion Sarah Poewe , World Cup third Steffen Driesen and relay world record holder Daniela Samulski started for SG Bayer .

Club life

In all three cities involved, the top teams have at least 15 hours of training a week in indoor and outdoor pools. Training sessions are also regularly offered early in the morning from 5:30 a.m.

SG Bayer starts swimming in both the men and women in the 1st Bundesliga .
