Pretzel Sunday

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pretzel Sunday (lux .: Bretzelsonndeg , including: Bratzelsonndeg ) is a Luxembourg Easter tradition. On the fourth Sunday of Lent , also called Laetare or mid- fast or half- fast , the boys give a girl they like a sweet, decorated pretzel-shaped pastry . If the girl likes the boy too, she'll give him a chocolate egg back on Easter Sunday . In leap years, the order is reversed: the girls give away the pretzels, the boys the egg. Married couples also carry out the tradition.
