The book Letters and Messages ( English : Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Bahá ) is a collection of letters and messages from Abdul-Baha , the scribe of the Baha'i and son of Baha'u'llah .

In this work, Abdul-Baha addresses the importance of education , upbringing , health and justice and emphasizes the importance of service to humanity, prayer and the feast of the Nineteen Day. He condemns the flogging of children , defamation and lies . He also summarizes the rules of Baha'i marriage and explains the meaning of marriage .
