British Empire Michelin Cup

The British Empire Michelin Cup was an endurance (British Empire Michelin Cup No. 1) and speed flight (British Empire Michelin Cup No. 2) competition at the beginning of the 20th century in England. The event caused a sensation.

The first winner of the first event for which flights up to March 31, 1910 were rated, was John Moore-Brabazon , who on March 1, 1910 had flown a short biplane a distance of 31 km at an average speed of 60 km / h.

The second endurance event on December 31, 1910 was won by Samuel Franklin Cody with a distance of 298 km in 4 hours 47 minutes. Cody also won the first speed competition on September 11, 1911.
