Broch from Feranach
The Broch of Feranach is on the north bank of the Abhainn na Frithe near Kildonan in Sutherland in Scotland .
The ruins of the Broch von Feranach, several meters high, are located about 3.2 km north of the river Helmsdale. It has an unusually complex wall structure and is in comparatively good condition. The outer diameter is 19.3 m, the inner about 11.0 m. Still be covered access to the west, consists of an up to 1.19 m wide, centered on the door stop flared passage and a 1.83 m long and 1.53 m wide guard cell ( English guard-cell ).
From the main chamber, which is littered with stone, there are five entrances in wall niches, the largest of which can be classified as a gallery for the clockwise staircase. There are no visible remains of outbuildings around the broch.
