Bronica was a Japanese manufacturer of medium format - SLR and rangefinder cameras .

The company was founded in 1958 by Zenzaburo Yoshino. The name Bronica is derived from the Brownie Camera popular in the USA , it is said, Zenzaburo named his cameras Zenza Bronica .

Zenzaburo died in 1988. In 1995, lens manufacturer Tamron took over 95 percent of the capital of Bronica Co., Ltd., and the company subsequently became part of Tamron.

By October 2005, Tamron stopped producing the Zenza Bronica cameras.
