Brooke Davis

Brooke Davis (* 1980 in Bellbrae , Victoria , Australia ) is an Australian writer .

Life

Alongside and after studying creative writing and other subjects at the University of Canberra, Brooke Davis worked as a bookseller. She completed her studies with a doctorate. During her training she already collected literary awards. The debut novel Another Fact About the World was published in 2014 and made her an international bestselling author. According to the publisher, the rights were sold in 25 countries, including Germany, where the novel was published in 2015 in a first edition of 30,000 copies. The story tells of seven year old Millie who is abandoned by her mother in a department store. Millie tries to find her mother again with two quirky old people - eighty-seven year old Karl and eighty-two year old Agatha. Another such fact about the world is a comedy that takes on serious issues such as age, love, and death in a humorous way. Spiegel Online described the novel as "touching".

Brooke Davis lives in Berlin in 2015.
