Brother Phelps was a country music duo consisting of singers and guitarists Doug Phelps and Ricky Lee Phelps .

Career

In 1992 the brothers Doug and Ricky Lee Phelps left the Kentucky Headhunters after disputes about musical direction and formed a duo they named after their late father, the preacher Brother Phelps. Their goal was to play traditional country music instead of their old band's mix of rock, country, and blues.

In the same year, a record deal was signed with the Asylum label. Her first album Let Go was released in 1993 . The title song reached the top 10, but the following singles were only able to place themselves in the lower areas of the country charts. Her second album, Anyway The Wind Blows , was released in 1995. It was much more rock and progressive than the previous album, which also contained some traditional titles. Sales remained weak, however, and so Doug returned to the Kentucky Headhunters that same year, who had also experienced a lengthy dry spell. Ricky Lee ended his musical career.
