from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The brood barn is a term used in beekeeping (beekeeping) and describes a collection of brood combs that are temporarily and separately kept from the bee colonies used for economic purposes in order to achieve certain effects on the economic colonies. The brood combs are kept in their own beehive until all of the brood has hatched. This takes a maximum of 3 weeks. Then the honeycombs and bees can be separated and used for new purposes. The bees obtained are usually treated against the Varroa mite at this point .
