Book and media industry - publishing is a teaching profession in Austria .

tasks

Publishing clerks are responsible for the commercial and organizational processes in the publishing industry: production, sale and distribution of publishing products (books, magazines, newspapers, multimedia products), contract preparation for authors and license agreements, catalog creation, presentation of publishing products and advertising measures as well as database and catalog creation. Further activities are the calculation and determination of sales prices as well as the selection of the distribution channels for the products on offer. A prerequisite for working as a publishing clerk is not only specialist knowledge of press law and copyright law (as well as related property rights), but also administrative work with company communication systems as well as company bookkeeping and cost accounting and the creation of statistics and files.

education

The training lasts three years. It takes place predominantly in the training company and accompanying this in the vocational school , which conveys the theoretical background for practicing the profession.
