A book packaging is specifically for the shipment of individual books and the like imaginary packaging .

Book packaging is usually made of corrugated cardboard and usually has an all-round integrated crumple zone to protect the particularly sensitive corners of the book against hard knocks that can occur during shipping. Book packaging usually consists of one part and, due to its construction, adjusts itself to a certain extent in size to the goods to be packaged. This means that a very wide range of book formats can be packaged with relatively few standard sizes . It is also possible to send several books.

Modern book packaging has adhesive strips attached to the packaging. This on the one hand accelerates the packaging process and on the other hand effectively prevents the packaged goods from slipping out of the packaging.

In order to ensure convenient unpacking by the recipient, high-quality book packaging is equipped with an integrated tear strip.

Book packaging is often printed in multiple colors for advertising purposes.
