Building Management System

A building management system (BMS) is software that can be used to visualize and control a building that has a building automation system. The usual functions of a building management system include controlling lighting and air conditioning systems.

Building management systems are used in private households as well as in commercial and public buildings. The basis for using such a system is an existing building automation system, for example through an EIB installation.

There are numerous manufacturers of building management systems in Germany. There is currently no generally recognized standard for building automation in Germany that is used by enough users to establish itself as a future-oriented system.
