Bukui mosque

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bukui Mosque ( Chinese  卜奎 清真寺 , Pinyin Bǔkuí Qīngzhēnsì ) in Qiqihar City , Heilongjiang Province , People's Republic of China , was built in the second half of the 17th century.

The history of the mosque is older than that of the city of Qiqihar. Qiqihar was formerly called Bukui. There is a saying in Qiqihar: "First there was the mosque, then the city of Bukui."

The mosque houses various relics, including a Koran manuscript and a copy of the Collected Commentaries on the Four Books from the 8th year of the Xianfeng reign (1858) of the Qing Dynasty .

Since 2006 it has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China in Heilongjiang (6-504).
