Bullshit is a card game played with any hand . It is known internationally, including in Latin America and Europe. In most countries as bullshit , in the French-speaking area it is called le Menteur ( the liar ). In East Germany, the game is also known as Berliner Beschiss . It can be played by at least three to about six players.

Gameplay

The cards are played face up with the player saying what he is playing. However, this does not always have to (and can) be true. The jack is the only card that cannot be named.

There are different forms.

version 1

(internationally known)

The cards are played in ascending order and the number of cards must not be changed in one "turn". (Player 1: 2 six, Player 2: 2 seven, Player 3: 2 eight)

The following player can always (but does not have to) decide on the cards placed by the previous player whether they are right or wrong, i.e. not corresponding to the cards announced. In this case he says "bullshit" to the group.

  • If he says they are correct and they are, the entire deck of cards is eliminated from the game, whereby the cards may not be looked at.
But if they are wrong, he has to pick up the whole pile.
  • If he says they are bullshit and they are, the previous player must take the entire deck of cards in hand.
But if they are correct, he has to pick up the whole pile.

After a certain period of time, certain cards are completely eliminated from the game and can no longer be placed. Then each player can say which ones are outside while laying. (Example: Player 1 would have to place a 6. He thinks 6 and 7 are outside, so he says "six outside, seven outside, here is an eight".) Now only the next player can claim the opposite by telling him shows a 7, and he then takes the whole stack in hand, while player 2 discards his 7. It follows that the fewer cards the next player has, the more it can be said that almost everything is already out, even if the cards are in hand.

The winner is whoever is the first to run out of cards. The game is over as soon as only two players have cards left.

Variant 2

(known in western Switzerland and northern Germany (also known as "Lügen"))

The same card is always played in one turn and the number of cards can be freely chosen by each player per "turn". (Player 1: 2 six, Player 2: 4 six, Player 3: 3 six)

The next player can always (but does not have to) decide whether the cards placed by the previous player are wrong (not those cards that were announced "bullshit").

  • If he says they are bullshit and they are, the previous player has to take the entire deck of cards in hand.
But if they are correct, he has to pick up the whole pile.

If there are four of the same card in the stack, they are eliminated.

The winner is whoever is the first to run out of cards. The game is over as soon as only one player has cards left.
