Federal Archives Act (Austria)

The Austrian Federal Archives Act (BArchivG) of August 17, 1999 regulates the archiving and use of federal archive material . In particular, it regulates the affairs of the Austrian State Archives .

The tasks of the Austrian State Archives are described in the Federal Archives Act as follows: Collecting, taking over, keeping, maintaining, repairing, organizing, opening up, utilizing and making usable of federal archives for research into the past and present, for other research and science, for legislation , Jurisdiction, administration as well as for legitimate concerns of the citizens.
