Federal territory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Federal territory means:

  • the entire territory of a federal state or confederation of states
  • more specifically the territory of the German Confederation, the North German Confederation, the German Reich and the Federal Republic of Germany, see Germany #Staatsgebiet
  • an area in a federal state that is not subject to any member state, but only to the federal government, see federal area
      • in a broader sense, however, it can also mean an area owned by the state that is not a federal area
