The Federal Guild for Flexographers Crafts (BIF) is a corporation under public law and is subject to the legal supervision of the competent Chamber of Crafts. In contrast to a guild, the area of ​​responsibility of the federal guild is extended to all of Germany. So she is responsible for all German flexography companies .

In 1965, the flexography trade was also included as a full trade in the craft regulations, creating the possibility of founding craft guilds in the flexography trade. After a founding meeting with 30 members was held in 1967, the BIF obtained approval and legal force from the Hessian Minister for Economics and Transport in 1968.

tasks

The federal guild performs the following tasks in accordance with the Law on the Order of Crafts (Crafts Code, § 52 ff):

  • Promotion of the common commercial interests of its members, in particular
  • Perceiving the overall interests of the flexographic trade
  • Regulation and supervision of apprenticeship training within the framework of dual training
  • Establishment of a journeyman's examination committee and acceptance of the journeyman's examination in the flexographic trade
  • Implementation and preparation of master craftsman exams in the flexography trade
  • Contact person for authorities and preparation of reports
  • Implementation of the regulations and orders issued by the Chamber of Crafts within its jurisdiction
  • Promotion of the good relationship between masters, journeymen and apprentices in the flexographic trade (including arbitration board)

Membership in the federal guild is voluntary. Any owner of an artisanal flexography company can become a member of the federal guild. The statutes provide for guest membership for industrial companies.
