Federal Association of Agricultural Trade

The Bundesverband Agrarhandel eV (BVA) is a German association. It represents the interests of the agricultural industry ( land trade ) vis-à-vis ministries, other government agencies and other organizations from business and society . The main office of the BVA has been in Berlin since January 1st, 2015.

history

The history of the association goes back to the Association of Grain and Feed Associations of Germany founded in 1916 in Berlin. V. back. In 1916 it comprised around 50 clubs and associations in the agricultural sector, some of which had been cooperating with one another since the 19th century. In 1948 the Central Association of the German Grain, Feed and Fertilizer Trade was re-established in the United Economic Area with its headquarters in Frankfurt / Main. The addition "in the United Economic Area" was deleted in 1951. In 1996 the Central Association of the German Grain, Feed and Fertilizer Trade e. V. by resolution of the general assembly in the Federal Association of Agricultural Industry e. V. (BVA) renamed. In 2019, by resolution of the general assembly, the name was changed to Bundesverband Agrarhandel eV (BVA).

tasks

In addition to representing the interests of the agricultural industry, another focus of the association's work is to advise and promote agricultural companies, associations of companies, regional and state associations in the common economic and technical areas that affect their task, while respecting state-specific and federal interests.

structure

The association is structured according to regional associations, member associations and direct members. The members of the BVA are mostly medium-sized companies of different types of company that trade in grain, animal feed (including production), oilseeds / renewable raw materials , seeds , fertilizers and pesticides on the agricultural, wholesale and foreign trade level.

Members

In addition to the Federal Association of VO Companies e. V. (BVO), representing the interests of the multiplier organizations in the fields of grain, seeds, field crops and organic seeds, a number of other associations, companies and individual members are organized in the BVA. Members can become owners of companies as well as legal persons, in particular professional associations and associations in the agricultural sector and related business areas. Natural and legal persons who are connected to the agricultural industry can become sponsoring members, but do not have to belong to it.
