Bundesverband Deutscher Krankenhausapotheker eV (formerly Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Krankenhausapotheker ADKA eV .) Is the professional association of German hospital pharmacists .

History and present

In 1911 the "Association of Heads of Institution Pharmacies for the German Reich" was founded. The aim was to create a forum for hospital pharmacists in Germany for regular exchange and the treatment of scientific, economic and legal issues. At the same time, the peculiarities of hospital pharmacy within and outside of the pharmacist profession should be represented.

Today the association is a network with over 2000 members who are organized in 16 active regional associations under the leadership of the regional association chairmen. The society is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies ( AWMF ).

organization

Organizationally, the association is divided into a presidium and a board. The highest organ is the general assembly. The executive committee consists of 5 members elected by the general assembly. These are the President, the 1st Vice-President, the 2nd Vice-President, the Secretary and the Treasurer. The board consists of the members of the presidium and the chairmen of the 16 regional associations. A full-time managing director runs ADKA's business and heads the capital city office in Berlin . The seat of the association is Munich.

The current president (as of 05/2018) is Frank Dörje, chief pharmacist of the pharmacy at the University Hospital Erlangen; 1. Vice-President Thomas Vorwerk, chief pharmacist of the KRH Klinikum Region Hannover; 2. Vice-President Almut Weygand, chief pharmacist of the St. Bernward Hospital Hildesheim; Treasurer Monika Guggemos, pharmacist at the Munich-Schwabing Municipal Hospital; Secretary Jochen Schnurrer, chief pharmacist at Essen University Hospital. The managing director is Rudolf Bernard.

tasks

With so far 9 ADKA guidelines (status: 01/2019), the association has systematically developed recommendations with "the purpose of providing hospital pharmacists with support in deciding on appropriate procedures and measures for supplying patients with drugs and clinical-pharmaceutical services. " Hospital patients must receive the right drug, in the right dosage and dosage form, at the right time, and correctly informed and documented. To control the associated processes, the Federal Association has formulated 22 theses that deal with the safety and quality of drug therapy, information and production, as well as the quality of education, training and further education, the quality of pharmaceutical logistics and the Address economics of drug therapy. Foundation, endowment

The ADKA Foundation for the Promotion of Clinical Pharmacy eV supports young pharmacists who are interested in the practical implementation of clinical pharmacy in hospitals by awarding grants. For example, pharmacy interns in the third stage of the examination who complete a six-month internship in a hospital pharmacy abroad, hospital pharmacists who are training to become specialist pharmacists for clinical pharmacy or hospital pharmacists after completing their training are funded. The foundation also promotes international contact as well as the exchange of pharmacists and the organization of seminars for young managers. A special focus is on promoting internships and studies abroad.
