Federal Association for Child Day Care

The Federal Association for Child Day Care ( BVKTP ) is the umbrella and professional association for child day care in Germany founded in 1978. Its members are regional associations and specialist services as well as individual members who are active in the field of child day care. The professional association cooperates with federal, state and local authorities, free and public youth welfare organizations as well as with educational institutions that influence the qualitative further development of child day care.

Since it was founded in 1978, the Federal Association for Child Day Care eV has helped advance developments in child day care. B. in the quality development in child day care, the qualification requirements for day care workers as well as the discussion about professionalization, occupation and performance-related pay.

Mission and organization

The federal association is committed to the implementation of the rights of children to education, upbringing and care in day care.

The work is based on the eighth Social Code (SGB VIII) and the principle of equality of child day care and child day care facilities.

The federal association is managed by a voluntary board.

The full-time employees work in the Berlin office. The federal association is financially supported by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth .
