Federal Association of Professional Image Providers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal Association of Professional Image Providers ( BVPA for short ) is an interest group for German press image agencies and image archives. It was founded in 1970 by 18 picture agencies in Berlin under the name Federal Association of Press Image Agencies and Image Archives and renamed the Federal Association of Professional Image Providers in 2014 . Fifty years after it was founded (as of early 2020), almost 70 photo agencies are members.

The association publishes the Mittelstandsgemeinschaft-Foto-Marketing-Liste ( MFM-Liste for short , see Mittelstandsgemeinschaft Foto-Marketing ), which lists the fees for photo usage rights - in the opinion of the BVPA, which are customary in the market - and which courts use in some cases as a benchmark.
